This is Niwasa Kendaaswin Teg, a growing social multi-service agency, with locations in Hamilton and Brantford. See www.niwasa.ca . The Niwasa mission is to provide, in safe spaces, services and supports for Indigenous people of all ages that are rooted in culture and language. The Niwasa vision is Indigeneity: strong cultural identity and healthy families. Niwasa provides a range of services. Programs include Head Start Preschool, Early Learning and Child Care at their EarlyON Child and family centre in Hamilton, Native Youth Advancement with Education Hamilton, McQueston Neighbourhood Food Bank, Brantford Child and Family Program and Brantford Youth Hub. Recipients of St. Jude’s frozen dinners will include individuals and families facing barriers to food security, housing stability, employment and access to community support. This includes seniors, persons living with disabilities and others experiencing challenges related to health, income, isolation or changing life circumstances.
