Good News from Oakville Town Council Meeting

Good News from Oakville Town Council Meeting

On May 4, Oakville Town Council unanimously approved two zoning changes, which allow the Post Residences Inc. project at 1493 Sixth Line to proceed through the Town’s approval process.

Post Residences Inc. are proposing a six-story, 100% affordable housing development, with 190 rental units and a day care. But it is more than housing; it will be a community hub, offering supports and services to clients from Home Suite Hope, Community Living Oakville, Halton Women’s Place and Oakville Senior Citizens Residence.

Representatives from Oakville United and Anglican churches, which are participants in Halton Faith Advocates, stated their strong advocacy for those needing affordable, supported housing in this unique community hub model.  After the meeting concluded, a councillor thanked the HFA group for participating and said that their presence really helped in the decision-making.

Thank you to those in our congregation who sent emails and attended the meeting
