We are pleased to announce the launch of St. Jude Library’s Debwewin & Sacred Circle Collection. Amplifying Indigenous voices and themes, this curated group consists of a dozen books recommended by Indigenous scholars, elders and other community leaders. The books are available for two-week loans or perusal in the library; a few will remain on-site for reference (e.g. First Nations Version, New Testament and A Treaty Guide for Torontonians). We are grateful to partner with Different Drummer Books in Burlington, independent bookseller established in 1970, whose owner Ian Elliot was helpful in sourcing the collection’s works. Justice and Servant Ministries has generously supported this initiative, in addition to some individual contributions. Parishioners are encouraged to explore these impactful new additions to the library, as we listen, learn and find ways to work together as allies.
