On behalf of the choristers and musicians of St. Jude’s, I’m delighted to welcome everyone to the start of our 2025/26 choir season!

As of this week, rehearsals have resumed for our adult choirs - The St. Jude’s Choir and The Gloria Singers. Next week, we look forward to welcoming back St. Jude’s Youth Chorus under the direction of Corinne DeJong.

Our Choral Eucharist services resume this Sunday, featuring congregationally sung psalms, choral mass settings, and anthems. This Sunday’s anthem, O Be Joyful in the Lord, is a jubilant setting of Psalm 100 by acclaimed Toronto composer Eleanor Daley (b. 1955). Originally from Parry Sound, Daley has served as Director of Music at Fairlawn Avenue United Church, Toronto since 1982. The piece beautifully showcases her signature style of lyrical sensitivity and rich harmonic texture - a fitting start to the musical year.

I’m also pleased to share that our weekly Music Notes will resume this season. These will be available on the parish website and included in the weekly Saturday parish email. For those interested in a broader view, a full list of this season’s music can also be found on the Music page of the parish website, under Music Lists.

We look forward to another inspiring season of music and worship together!
