Welcome to St. Jude's!
Here's some FAQs.

If you are new to St. Jude's or considering visiting with us for worship, here is the answer to some frequently asked questions.

What is it like?

St. Jude's is a warm and welcoming place. Our worship is offered in the best of the classic Anglican tradition.

The Early Service begins at 8 AM in church. It is a service of Holy Communion in the tradition of the Book of Common Prayer.

The Choral Service begins at 10:30 AM in the church. It is a Choral Holy Eucharist, meaning the service includes congregational singing of hymns and in some cases parts of the liturgy. The choir sings from the best of the Anglican choral tradition.

What about my kids?

A children's program is available for children ages 7 to 11 during the Choral Service. Children gather in the church with the adults who brought them and depart with the other children and their leaders for Children's Church after the opening prayer.

For younger children remaining in the church their are children's resources available from the ushers and at the entrance to the church.

Where do I park?

There is plenty of street parking around the church, however, do observe the signs describing parking restriction as these are strictly enforced. We do recommend that you arrive to church a little early to you are parking your car.

What do I wear?

There is no dress code. While some parishioners still like to wear their "Sunday best," you are very welcome to dress casually.

How can I get connected?

There are plenty of ways to get connected. As a first step we invite you to attend coffee hour following the Choral Service and introduce yourself to the clergy. We would love to get to know you and learn about your interests.

How do I become a member?

Anglicans don't really know anything about 'formal' membership. Holy Baptism is the rite and sacrament through which we become full members of Christ's church. If you are already baptized and attend worship at St. Jude's you are already a member. Members are invited to share in St. Jude's life together by sharing their time, their gifts for ministry, and of their financial resources in support of our work.

If  you are not already baptized and would like to join the church in full membership, we invite you to speak to one of the clergy.

If you have come to St. Jude's after having been baptized in another church, you may choose to re-affirm your baptismal vows, or to be received into the Anglican Church, or to be Confirmed in your faith, all of which happens at special services with our diocesan family and our bishop, normally held at our Cathedral one or two times a year. Again, if you are interested in a Reaffirmation of Faith, Reception, or Confirmation, please speak to one of our clergy who can help you discern what might be the appropriate next step for you.
