Some of St. Jude’s parishioners, joined by the Reverend Canon Dr. David Anderson and fellow Oakville community members, took part in the second annual Treaty and Allyship Celebration at the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation (MCFN) Community Centre, in Hagersville, Ontario, on Saturday, March 2nd, 2024.

This community-to-community celebration of arts, culture, and cuisine featured live music and dance performances including headliner Joseph Sarenhes, an emerging rapper drawing inspiration from his Guinean and Huron-Wendat Nation heritage.

is very special event in recognition of Treaty Week, and the signing of Treaty 22, was presented by Debwewin: The Oakville Truth Project, a collaboration between the Oakville Community Foundation and MCFN. St. Jude’s is represented on Debwewin Oakville’s Ally Leadership Council by Nancy Coombs and Blair Richardson.
