We had a wonderful day! Thank you to all the artists who exhibited their work and all the visitors who came by. Thank you to all of the volunteers who gave tours, played music, and welcomed our guests. Thank you for a wonderful time.
Art in My Garden is an annual, collaborative, one-day art exhibition in the gardens of historic Oakville. St Jude's is proud to collaborate in this event with our neighbours and artists, in our own beautiful gardens outside our beautiful church.
In addition to the exhibited art work, St. Jude's is pleased not only to share our garden, but to open our doors to visitors who are interested to see the beautiful architecture of the church itself. Tours of the Bell Tower, along with the opportunity to ring the bells, are also highlights for visitors during Art in My Garden.
We are proud of the beautiful grounds that surround St. Jude's. These gardens are cared for by dedicated members of the Garden Guild, many of whom live in the neighbourhood. The Guild meets mostly on Thursday mornings, or afternoons, according to the season, for the work of maintaining these beautiful gardens – keeping them colourful and cared for, and ever conscious of the changing seasons. Work sessions are followed with a time of fellowship, where the real friendship of fellow volunteers is enjoyed. The garden is a welcoming spot known by the community as a place of quiet and respite in the midst of our town.
The garden includes the lovely Chapel of the Gardens of the Bible.
The Memorial Garden is an enclosed garden area adjacent to the church and is operated as a cemetery available for the interment of ashes which are "sprinkled" directly into the earth. For more information about interment fees and arrangements please be in contact with the church office.
