St. Jude's Greening Committee would like to remind people to enjoy the shelf of books bought by the committee on environmental issues in the Helen Poole Library. These books are all available to be signed out and borrowed.

Two titles we particularly recommend are Fire Weather (about the forest fire crisis in Canada), and I'm A Climate Optimist (reasons for hope and optimism!). Best recent information on climate issues is of course in the daily paper, where the environment and its crises are often a main story. Particularly interesting newspaper articles on these issues are regularly posted on the board in the Library for you to enjoy.

The Greening Committee looks forward this year to reporting on what we've learned from our reading, and to discussing news, and various ways our parish can have a positive influence on environmental problems. We welcome new members.

Feel free to contact Hamish Guthrie, committee chair, at htguthrie@cogeco.ca
