The Environmental Journal reported just a few days ago that "seven Ontario youth are celebrating a landmark victory" handed down by the Ontario Supreme Court. Their case, brought against the government of Ontario, claims that the government of Ontario has threatened the rights of citizens of Ontario under the Canadian Charter of Human Rights by recently weakening Ontario's environmental standards, and thereby not managing the climate in accordance with the high standards of the Charter. And they have won their case! They are pushing forward with a new hearing. Cases like this are ongoing in countries like Germany, the Netherlands and Colombia.
