In this photo, Mike Say is helping Lisa, an employee of Halton Emergency Supportive Housing as they stack frozen meals in the freezer at the emergency shelter in Burlington. The meals were prepared by a Pantry Program volunteer cook team in the kitchen at St. Jude’s. The shelter serves families and women who are experiencing homelessness, with an objective of helping them find permanent housing within 30-60 days. Currently, there are 100 clients accommodated in 40 units, which have no kitchens, only a microwave oven.
