To honour the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, St Jude’s cordially invites you to learn about Indigenous heritage of our region at a special presentation.

Walking the Land will move forward as planned for Monday, Oct 6th @ 10am but – due to a serious medical emergency requiring surgery—Darin Wybenga, featured speaker, regrets that he cannot be with us.

We will still gather—please join us as we reflect on the recent National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and discuss meanings of allyship, treaty and inter-relatedness. Let us listen to the words of knowledge-keepers and leaders from the past and present, affirming the importance of making a holistic connection to the land and water in building true partnerships.
Unfortunately, due to the change in format, we are unable to offer virtual attendance at this time.

Together, we will consider how we as allies can honour these commitments in our everyday lives, including some ways that St. Jude’s continues its commitment to Indigenous learning and allyship.

To mark the occasion, we will have a ceremony to hang a Debwewin Oakville Treaty 22 wall plaque at St. Jude`s, in the company of the Rev Canon Dr. David Anderson and Nancy Coombs, St. Jude’s Rector’s Warden and Debwewin Oakville Ally Leadership Council Representative.

We also will have a card to sign for Darin on his medical recovery.
