Weddings by Visiting Clergy

We receive a number of  requests each year from couples belonging to other congregations who wish to be married here by a minister from their own church.

The clergy and people of St. Jude’s have a strong commitment to ecumenism and desire that our church be an open and welcoming place for all people. Keeping this in mind, the clergy of our parish have an obligation to oversee the ceremonies that take place in our church building. The only clergy authorized to solemnize marriages at St. Jude’s are the clergy licensed and appointed by the Anglican Bishop of Niagara to serve the parish of St. Jude’s.

Ministers from other churches and religions can be personally invited to participate in the ceremony at the discretion of the presiding priest. The presiding priest will make sure that the visiting minister(s) are made to feel welcome and will discuss with them ways in which they may participate in the ceremony.
