We welcome all enquiries about weddings. A church wedding is a religious service, a sacrament of the Christian community, provided within the worship space of the Christian community.
If you would like to get married at St. Jude's, please fill out an application (linked below). Wedding application forms are also available at the Church office. Please complete the form and then e-mail it to the church office at office@stjudeschurch.net .
We have a detailed information package that can be emailed to you that will answer most questions you may have, including the financial aspect of the “wedding offering” fees. For enquiries, please call (905) 844-3972 or, email office@stjudeschurch.net .
No, you do not need to be Anglican or a member of St. Jude's to be married here. However, because it is a Christian church, weddings are conducted according to the rites of the Anglican tradition. Canon law states that at least one of the couple must be baptised.
The sanctuary seats approximately 250 guests comfortably. There is no set minimum — intimate ceremonies are welcome.
We recommend booking at least 6–12 months ahead to secure your preferred date. During the summer months we have limited clergy available, and popular summer weekends often book up quickly.
Yes. St. Jude’s affirms marriage equality and welcomes all couples.
Yes — while the Anglican service has a set structure, couples may personalize it with readings, music, and additional vows (in addition to the official vows).
Yes. Our Director of Music can help you select processional, recessional, and other music. The church has a magnificent pipe organ, and outside musicians or soloists can be arranged.
Readings should be approved by the officiating clergy. Music should be appropriate for a church setting. Decorations are welcome but there are some limitations. No arches, aisle runners, or windowsill decorations may be added to the normal decoration of the church. Decorations for the pews (bows, flowers, etc) may be added but must be attached without damaging the pews.
For environmental and safety reasons, we do not allow confetti. Bubbles or biodegradable petals are welcome outside the building, but must not be used inside the church.
Our basic wedding fees cover use of the church, the clergy’s time, a rehearsal, and the organist. A $100 deposit is required to secure your date, with the balance due one (1) week before your wedding day. Livestream, bell ringer, and a soloist are optional services that can be requested. A detailed fee schedule is available from the church office.
We receive a number of requests each year from couples belonging to other congregations who wish to be married here by a minister from their own church.
The clergy and people of St. Jude’s have a strong commitment to ecumenism and desire that our church be an open and welcoming place for all people. Keeping this in mind, the clergy of our parish have an obligation to oversee the ceremonies that take place in our church building. The only clergy authorized to solemnize marriages at St. Jude’s are the clergy licensed and appointed by the Anglican Bishop of Niagara to serve the parish of St. Jude’s.
Ministers from other churches and religions can be personally invited to participate in the ceremony at the discretion of the presiding priest. The presiding priest will make sure that the visiting minister(s) are made to feel welcome and will discuss with them ways in which they may participate in the ceremony.
Please contact the church office by phone or email. We’d be delighted to meet with you and show you our beautiful space.
