DESCRIPTION:Has God Rejected His People? (Romans 11:1)\nA Bible-study on Ro
mans 9-11 is provocative to say the least – in light of the present drea
dful situation in Israel/Palestine.  It is hard to feel much empathy for
Israel in light of reports of their apparent mistreatment of their neighbo
urs.\nThat being said\, perhaps we may also be reminded of the ‘holocaus
t’\, the harsh persecution of the Jews in Nazi Germany.  One of those w
ho sought to draw attention to it and to offer shelter to them in Switzerl
and was the Swiss theologian\, Karl Barth.  “What would we be\, what ar
e we Christians\, without Israel?  Whoever rejects and persecutes the Jew
s\, is also rejecting and persecuting the one who died for our sins….
Antisemitism is a sin against the Holy Spirit.  For antisemitism means th
e rejection of God’s grace”.\nYes\, reading Romans 9-11 together will
be provocative\, however we look at it.  That being said\, I trust we sha
ll stay attentive above all to St Paul’s remarkable text.  I look forwa
rd to studying it with you.   \nFormat: Online via Zoom\nOur Four Sessio
